You write soooo beautifully, everything you captured about the in-between season in Stockholm feels relevant for NYC (although we probably get through it faster). And man do I want to be that hockey mom!!!!

Antonia's avatar

There are actually so many seasonal similarities between NYC and Stockholm, but yes, spring definitely arrives a bit faster there. And I know, that hockey mom vibe is honestly my ultimate life goal.

This is such a brain nourishing read! Every collage is so thoughtfully and beautifully curated, every word interesting, and it truly gives us an eye into the culture through the window of fashion. I love your work ♥️

So so many gems in here. I especially need an orange puffer now

Antonia's avatar

I know, right? I’m obsessed with men’s puffers, they just have the best fit and feel so effortlessly cool.

The Correspondent look is speaking to me! And not just because I'm reading and loving it right now. I love the unexpected colors that elevate the whole ensemble!

Antonia's avatar

Not sure Sybil would wear the look! But I’d love to wear it reading that book, again!

Such a fantastic read. Do you have any shoe recommendations for when the "slask" is gone but it maybe a little muddy to pick out the sneakers in Stockholm? Boots?

Antonia's avatar

Ah, the trickiest time of all. I usually go for something sturdier, like a more rigid sneaker such as the Salomon XT-6, or a boot with a solid, supportive sole. And to be honest, I live in my Tretorn Avan Hybrids during the spring, and then just switch at work.

If you’re looking for something a bit more affordable, Flattered and Arket often have great options for boots. And it’s always worth checking Vinted too, you can sometimes find amazing pieces there.

So good tips! Thank you!!

Antonia - you're such a brilliant writer! I really feel it the same way you describe it, that winter lets go little by little until one day spring has the upper hand. Can't wait for that day to be honest.

Antonia's avatar

Tack Julia – how sweet of you to say. I’ve had to write loads every day for my work, but this feels like such a fun and freeing outlet in comparison.

I can’t wait either… even if it slightly feels like we’re being tricked at the moment!

I can tell, but you still write with such ease and integrity. I've also had to write a lot for work which definitely put me in a certain head space when I first began writing (and probably still influences me).

Today feels like spring! I'm smiling from ear to ear and enjoying this little pocket of sun

Oh Antonia I loved reading that! What you write about is much more than just styling tips -you Scandinavian people simply have a different mindset when it comes to dealing with the weather. We have very similar weather here in Berlin, but the mood and the fashion-related approach to it is completely different. I have been visiting Copenhagen regularly in bad weather for years and come back feeling inspired every time, as I get the feeling that Scandinavians don't let weather get them down they simply live with it. Still I noted every single tip and directly swapped my alpaca knit for two layers of merino wool - such a game-changer!

There’s something about living with Scandinavian weather year-round that has shaped our way of dressing — perhaps a bit like the Brits and their relationship with rain. 🤍

Honestly as a mom who works from home, very much in a location where march is still full winter, this post gave me such wonderful inspo for little wardrobe upgrades I can make to feel seasonal but still timeless. Thank you!!! <3

Ah Natalie! What a sweet comment! So happy to hear it inspired you. 🤍

I absolutely love reading your observations about the seasonal shifts! And loved getting introduced to new to me brands like the two jewelry lines you mentioned.

Antonia's avatar

Thank you, Teresa! We Scandinavians may be known for talking about the weather, but in all seriousness, it truly shapes how we dress and go about our daily lives.

Love this so much Antonia! It’s been quite warm where we live…but dips back down again next week. I feel as though I’m always dressing for transitional weather in that sense!

Oh and I’m just so so into cardigans and jackets with lots of buttons as of late. Love all the looks you pulled together!

Antonia's avatar

Thank you, Sogole! I love how the buttoned pieces feel both elegant and effortless at the same time. It’s almost like a more feminine take on the classic blazer-and-jeans look, but just as easy to throw on and feel polished in.

Thank you, Kelsey!! How sweet of you.

Wow. We don’t deserve you. Top to bottom, this was a genuine treat. I’ve already bookmarked to return to it later.
