I think my whole wardrobe is basics, with a few select pieces that are there for when I feel like going rogue. Having a wardrobe I know I can rely on to feel comfortable, confident and able to embody my highest frequency has been something that has taken time to develop. 🙏🏽
Love this! It makes getting dressed feel so much easier and more comfortable, while still leaving room for those other rogue pieces you can have fun with whenever the mood strikes.
My annual summer go-to is light cotton pants. I have a weird thing about my legs getting sweaty and touching themselves...like that sweat on the back of your knees. This year, I've got a very flowy black pair that my husband calls my "MC Hammer pants"...IFKYK. And Birks...Birks foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

I’m with you on the sweaty legs. That was the worst part for me when I lived in Dallas and NYC! It’s not really an issue here since it rarely gets that hot.
I'm with you on the tanks!! I wear them so much in the summer and having a few in different colors, fabrics or shapes is so helpful. They also translate so well into the fall and spring months for layering. You also reignited my desire for a long sleeve striped shirt! I've been casually eyeing one for a year and I think it's time.
I agree on the tanks into fall! They’re my favorite under knits. Maybe perhaps because they often fit more snuggly? And yay regarding the stripes! And yay about the stripes! Some years I’m really into them all year long and wear them all the time, while other years more in summer, but they’re always there waiting for me regardless. 😊
This is a great summer staple collection. I love the scarf addition, I have a silk scarf but a cotton one would be a good summer investment. Beauty wise, I really rate ultra violette for SPF x

My mom when she was young and I was little I remember her wearing just head scarves and I’m trying it this season and maybe have that small connection with her! I love your thinking about the summer. You know your style and what works and you are true to yourself, and love that! We all need to consume less and just rewear our clothes more!
Agreed! We already have more than enough in our closets. I’ve always thought that people who truly know their style (I’m not quite there yet myself) are the chicest of all. There’s something so elegant about dressing with that kind of confidence and consistency.

Proof that you just can't beat the classics! And I've been wanting to incorporate a silk scarf this summer, but ever since I cut a bob, I'm not entirely convinced I won't look like an exceptionally stylish third grader.
I’d love to see the same classics year after year in your posts. It goes to show you don’t need a large wardrobe to be well dressed and have a functional closet. Less waste and saving money are huge benefits too!
